VFE 2 - dairy farm

this would be my 2nd week of farm work during the holidays. destination - dairy farm.... yeap COW MILKING!!! the dairy farm is in busselton, about 3 hours drive from perth.














MOOOOO~~~

it is no big deal really, at least i dun use my hand to squeeze coq teats, the machine does all the work!

every morning, wake up at 6am, get down to the dairy and let the cows in from the nearby paddock.... it was feaking COLD!! winter mornings are the worse, so cold that there is frost on the grass!!!
and yeah, while letting the cows in, u have to pass through cow shit..... about 1 feet thick cow shit, u step in and it takes u greater effort to pull ur feet out!! but thank god for gum boots (pua chu kang boots), if not my pants will be gone burried under shit....

as u can see in the pic above, we move the cow to both side of the corridor, then in the middle, is where all the milking occurs.
















thats the machine cup sucking out the milk from the cow. so every morning that's what we do -- fixing the machine on the cow. it does looks a bit tight and painful, but the cows dun give a shit... they are too busy eating pallets!





















that's where all the milk will pass by before being stored in the bigger tank.

then after milking them, have to put them back into their paddocks. the farmer move them from paddocks to paddocks everday, so sometimes, we need to cross the roads to get to another paddock.

well i was there for one week, from satruday to friday, and they dun work on friday, so i went to busselton town to look see look see. i visited the busselton jeti, which is a must to go when u are in busselton. the jeti is about 2km long, and i actually walked to the end, and walked back again. almost took me an hour. but it was great!! the sea is so clear, and the weather was nice, and u can see lots of ppl fishing!

a few updates

hello all!

ok uni just started, but damn busy right now. have to hand in my alpaca farm report this friday, and then have to do work for my group project. sigh.... the life of uni, but somehow it is better than at home doing nothing during the holidays

well i went to my 2nd VFE, which is a dairy fam, yeap this time really i did cow milking, will upload some pics and talk about my expirience later la, now very busy lol

farm week 1

well as u guys know, i went to work at the ALPACA farm for one week, so this is all about the experiences

first day:
woke up at 6.30, atrted driving at 7am, reach there at 8am..... bladdy long one hour drive.
so reach there meet up with the farmer, her name was deborah. she's a very powerful lady, at age 53, she is running the whole farm alone!!! well its not a really bigt farm only 20ha (or ac i forgot liao) so yeah she showed us how to made the alpaca's breakfast.
basically the breakfast includes 2 kinds of hay, 3 kinds of oats, 3 kinds of liquid suppliment, and 4 kinds of other supplements. so mixed it all up and feed all the alpacas.
well i was really amazed at how the lapaca "talk", its like a light curious "hm~" which is soooooooo cute lol.
and it is surprising that the 100 alpacas in her farm all has names!! fancy name... from mayako, to miss divine, isis, cassiopeia, aurora, atikai, sexon, enya, and even shakespear
so yeah first day was baaaaaaaaad, it rained. and we (me and my other classmate) have to work in the rain, fucking cold lor. we spent most of the time indoor, asking her questions for our reports. then about 4.30pm, time to feed them dinner, which is buckets of hay!! well they definately enjoyed it.
so drove home at 5pm, and man it was scary!!!! the country road was so foggy, it felt like i'm in silent hill or so (coz i just watched silent hill trailer the day b4). i can't even see 10m ahead of me, so have to drive slowly lor. got home safely at about 6pm..... another fucking hour drive.

2nd day:
same old thing wake up, drive there. the view in the farm this morning is amazing. it was a cold night b4, and some of the fences and paddicks are actually forzen (not like ice forzen, but maybe a bit on the surface). then as the sun shines, u can see fogs coming out from the fences and paddicks like they are melting!
did the same thing, feed them breakfast, and yeah the farmer let me fed one Squick, who is an alpaca orphan, he lost his mum, so we have to fed him milk ourself. so yeah basically we filled a bottle with de-lact milk, and then put a rubber teat ontop of it for squick to suckle

then we clean up one of the paddick, then had lunch. after lunch we had 2 hours break, so i went for a walk in the farm. the weather was nice, not sunny, just cloudy and everything just looks so peaceful, the alpacas were busily grazing. and squick kept coming to me, i think he wants more milk lol. feed them dinner, then drove home at about 5pm++
shit was so feaking tired then, nearly fell asleep while driving!! coz the road is alll straight, it only takes two turning from my house to the farm =.= have to slap myself to make me awake

3rd day:
today is where all the actions are!! we mix a female and a male alpaca in a barn, and see them have sex (mate). well according to the farmer, they have to seperate the males and the females, coz the males are horny bastard, and they dun have any mating seasons, so they can go on a mating frenzy!! so they only mix them together when the farmer feel like mating them. so watched two pairs mating for an hour =.=
then afternoon we were cleaning another paddick, picking up poooo..... and i hurt my back while trying to lift a troley full of shit.... i didn't know it was TAT heavy

4th day:
today we plow one of the paddick, dig them up, planted seed, applied ferteliser and cover them up again..... according to the farmer, its to grow grass so that the alpaca can graze on them next season.
then afternoon we gave the younger alpaca boys some vacine and multivitamin injection

5th day:
MORE MATING! mated 5 pairs i think, and u'll be surprised.... we used 5 females but only 3 males..... yeap they can have a quick fXXX, ejaculate and then immideatly go for another one with another female.... this part will be explained more in other post lol
oh yeah forgot to tell u guys, coz they onl shear the alpacas during august -october, so right now all the alpacas are thick and fluffy. the females's tails are also thick and fluffy, so its quit hard for the male to sometimes "get into" the female. so the farmer have to use her hands to guide the penis into the virgina............ YUCK!!!!
then had lunch, prepare some extra food for the alpacas, and the farmer let us go early!!! which is good coz i was dying from not enuf sleep then.....


so there you have it, my 5 days of farm prac 1. which i sept at 11 everynight and woke up at 6.30am every morning, and then drove two hours everyday there and back again..... so tired of driving!!!

have u ever had a dream that u thought it was real?


there i was in this highway, with desert at both sides
and there were cars driving by, while i stand confusely by the raod
everything was blur, i remember somebody wispering....
something like "hey hey u will understand"
but what was it i will understand?
i don't even know what was it that i dun understand

i was afraid, i remember.
not able to take any steps forward, i just stood there

i dun remember the faces of the passengers in the cars
they weren't driving fast, but i couldn't see who they were
but i particularly remembered there was a girl, in this car
she had her red ballon floating outside the window,
and as the car pass by me, she let go of the ballon,
it flew towards me, but i was reluctant to move and grabbed it
and so it flew up sky high...

and then, a car stopped by,
the driver was an old man, i can't remember his face
but i did remember his passenger - an old lady
the old lady walked out.
she looked fimiliar, dresssing like my grandma
she wispered something, i forgotten what it was,
but it was something like do u have my red ballon?
i said no, and she seem a bit sad, and told me this
"then i'm afraid i have to say goodbye"
she then moved into the car slowly, a bit angry but mostly sad
then the driver drove his car away
and i was left alone again.

as she leaves,
i started to choke, gasping for air.
it was a fimiliar feeling,
it was the feeling of crying...
but my eyes were dry, i just sat by the road,
trying harder to breath, while i suffer an extreme unexplainable sadness

which then i understood.... (and i didn't know how)
the old lady was, undeniable my grandmother....


i opened my eyes then, i was back to reality... but is this reality?
the dream felt so real, that the moment i opened my eyes,
i thought i was dreaming of myself in my room, sleeping on my bed......

australian won againts japan yesterday, and i can say the non-australian in australia (including me) very beh song lol

i didn't really watch the match, just went out last 10 minutes of the match to join my housemates watching.... and damn, for the 10 minutes there, i saw australian shot in 3 goals, i was like WTF???

and imeadiately, everyone's msn nick name has change to comment on the match. and it seems most of my classmates and friends also thinks its lame and stupid for the aussie to goal..... coz we all still support JAPAN, although half of us dun watch football.

so for the next few days (or even week) we will have to bear with the blabbing and boosting of the news, tv, newspaper, radio and every australians' mouth about their glorious 10 minutes moment.....

everyone thought the ninja would killed the kangaroo, but surprisingly the kangaroos kick the ninja's asses..... i can't wait to see the brazilian have a taste of some kangaroo meat......

this blog is mainly bitching about anatomy (again), so u can skip if you are not interested.....

ok firstly, i spend 7 hours in the uni musuem today just feaking looking at all the x rays
exam is on monday, and it feels like i'm going to die on monday. u can feel death slowly creeping near, it sends chill down your spines, and make u sleepless for nights, then when u think u had everything under control it turns out NOT. there are always twists and turns in every yrs paper, it always makes u helpless and hopeless in the examination hall.....

what's worse is the prac exam. rotating from stations to stations every 2 minutes can give u enuf stress.... and when the person opposite you who shares the same station is more distractive then the dead or chopped specimen on the table, u know that for that station U R GONE! well why mind about other ppl's bussiness??? coz they are distractive... as simple as that......

does anyone thinks that i should spend my time studying anatomy rather than bitching about it?

the truth is, if i dun bitch, i'm going to be even dead.... b4 the exam.....

big brother house

i'm soooo addictted to big brother recently, no matter how lame it is.....

big brother is a reality tv show in australia where they get like 20 ppl and make them stay in the "big brother house" for some time. and every week, the housemates will nominate ppl to be evicted by the viewers (us) in front of the tv, and we do so by sms-ing the names of the housemates we would like out of the house. so the last one left will win the game with the prize of one million AUS$. its just as simple as tat, the housemates stays in the house, and they live their lifes normally inside the house waiting for everyone else to leave and be the winner!! the only different thing is that they are monitored 24/7, even when they are showering or masturbating (ps: yes the tv do shows, but only during 'adults only')

and sooooo, they nominate housemates by giving eviction points. they must nominate a 2 points and a 1 point eviction point to two of their other housemates respectively. and housemates with eveiction point more than 4 points will be up for sms eviction.

now, BACK TO MY POINT......
right now i really beh syok one of MY housemates......... sigh i dun wan to mention his name and why, BUT i reallllllly hope it could be like big brother and so......:

"big brother, for two points eviction point i nominate to XXXXXX coz he is such an inconvinient in the house"

my sis sms me and told me that fluffy is LOST!!

fluffy is one of our dogs at home, we had her since she was born!! her mother gave birth to her in our house and she was part of the family since then

when i recieve that sms i was like wtf???? how can you lose the whole dog?? according to my mum when they left to work she was still there, but when they came home she isn't there anymore....

well theyhad searched for her for two days already, everywhere around our neighbourhood even underneath long kang... but still no luck!!

sigh they say dogs will know how to find their way home, if they dun, it may be they are too dumb, or they just simply can't come back.... and i fear the latter........ i hope she is still fine and healthy, in penang animal hit and run cases always happen, i just hope she is fine right now.......

i AM really looking forward to the two weeks farm prac!!

it's got nothing to do with me not getting to go back to penang :P
just tat i like to ngam about staying in perth during the winter break

its the end of the semester.... almost

today is last day of the semester, and i didn't even went to uni lol (coz no class)

times really flies hey? in a blink of and eye, its already one semester... well almost, still got finals to go!!

most of my friends are going home during the one month break, especially the-all-so-lucky daniel who had just got a last minute free ticket to penang AGAIN!! T_T

pity i have to work at the farm for two weeks, not really work coz i dun get pay, but its more like a farm expirience thingy...... i'm really looking forward it though!! but then again.... why do vets have to milk the cow and trim the alpacas???
